JEFF CONAWAY: 1950-2011 -- New York-bred actor Jeff Conaway, famous for his roles in 'Grease' and 'Taxi,' died on May 27, two weeks after an accidental drug overdose. He was 60 years old. The actor, who battled drug addiction for much of his adult life, was taken off life support at 10:05 a.m. and was pronounced dead at 10:30, his sister said. Conaway's first acting gig was in the Broadway production of 'All The Way Home' opposite Lillian Gish. He snagged the lead part of Danny Zuko in the Broadway musical blockbuster "Grease" during his senior year at NYU's Film and Theater program but lost the role to John Travolta when it moved to the silver screen in 1978. Instead, he played the second lead T-Bird Kenickie and later married his co-star Olivia Newton-John's sister.
