JOE FRAZIER: 1944-2011 -- Joe Frazier, 67, the bobbing, weaving, crouching left-hook artist who was the first man to defeat Muhammad Ali in the Fight of the Century, died on Nov. 7, succumbing to liver cancer after a nearly month-long battle with the disease. His death, at around 9 p.m., was confirmed by his business manager, Leslie Wolff. 'Smokin’ Joe' leaves behind a legacy that, along with George Foreman and Ali, defined a golden era in boxing for heavyweights that hasn’t been duplicated. He was inexorably linked with Ali for their trilogy in the early ’70s and a rivalry that extended to the modern day.
